In short
Researchers at the University of Southern Denmark have developed a new AI model for food delivery logistics that balances efficient routing, timely deliveries and courier capacity instead of optimizing only for speed or cost. Tested on 650,000 orders from the Chinese platform Meituan, the model cut courier needs by up to six percent while delivering more than 95 percent of meals on schedule, and bundled up to 24 percent of orders. The team is now seeking a delivery platform partner, mentioning Danish player Wolt, which says it is open to collaboration.
