Chinese air cargo e-commerce volumes under pressure in August
· Source: aircargonews.net
In short
Chinese air cargo e-commerce export volumes fell 16% year on year in August 2026, driven by a 40% drop in shipments to Europe after the EU introduced a €3 charge on packages worth less than €150 in July. Volumes to Asia Pacific, the Middle East, South Asia and Latin America also declined, while shipments to Africa rose 71% and North America remained broadly flat. The decline follows earlier de minimis clampdowns in the US and Brazil, though volumes to both markets have since recovered.
