Zalando Uses AI Robots to Automate Fashion Returns
· Source: wwd.com
In short
Zalando has deployed AI-powered dual-arm robots from German robotics firm Sereact to identify, grasp and sort returned fashion items at Ceva Logistics facilities in Greven, Germany and Świebodzin, Poland. The systems use Sereact's physical AI platform Cortex to handle items without SKU-specific training or predefined product lists, a first production phase in a broader European returns automation push. The move targets reverse logistics, where roughly 50 percent of Zalando orders are returned but more than 96 percent arrive in ideal condition.
