In short

A joint report from the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) and the Digital Supply Chain Institute (DSCI), titled The People Paradox in Supply Chain AI Integration, finds that while 91% of organizations plan to use AI to augment human workers, 83% say their employees are unprepared to use AI effectively. The study identifies an unready workforce, lack of trust in autonomous AI, cybersecurity concerns, and difficulty proving ROI as the main obstacles to scaling AI, resulting in a high-interest, low-execution cycle. Organizations with an AI-ready workforce put AI to work across roughly six supply chain functions and report a 71% project success rate, versus 28% for unprepared organizations.
