In short

USA Rare Earth has partnered with French quantum computing firm Pasqal and industrial AI specialist Riven Systems to develop more efficient methods for separating rare earth elements in the United States. Announced on September 17, the project combines quantum machine learning with a self-driving minerals-separation laboratory running thousands of automated experiments to find extractants that bind more selectively to rare earths. The partners aim to enable smaller, lower-energy processing facilities and strengthen a Western rare earth supply chain currently dominated by China.
