The Pentagon has officially designated AI company Anthropic as a supply-chain risk, cutting it off from partnerships with other brands that work with the agency. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei says the company will challenge the designation in court, citing the company's refusal to adhere to Defense Department policies regarding AI use for mass domestic surveillance and fully autonomous weapons. Despite the designation, Anthropic states that the vast majority of its customers are unaffected, and the company continues to see strong growth with over a million new customers daily.
