Companies develop AI robots for Audi logistics

In short
Agile Robots, Audi, Dassault Systèmes and NVIDIA presented a proof-of-concept at NVIDIA GTC Berlin to automate the sequencing of components at Audi's Ingolstadt plant, where around one million picks are needed daily. Mobile humanoid robots will retrieve parts from containers and place them in sequence carts, with a virtual twin of the logistics environment built on Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform to validate feasibility, lead times, ergonomics and safety before deployment. The partners aim to solve two long-standing automation challenges: handling a wide variety of part variants and reliably grasping unsorted components from containers.
