Blue Yonder: 46% of people who shop with AI have returned what they bought

· Source: dcvelocity.com

In short

A Blue Yonder survey of more than 5,000 consumers across five countries found that of the 24% of U.S. shoppers who bought a product after an AI recommendation, 46% returned one in the past year. The top reasons were that the item differed from its description (36%) or was the wrong size or fit (23%), pointing to product data quality rather than AI itself. The study also shows heavy consumer sensitivity to returns policies, with 51% of U.S. respondents choosing a retailer based on its returns policy and 29% abandoning a retailer that tightened its policy.
