In short
Aeon and Mujin began full operations at the Aeon Kawaguchi-Higashi XD distribution center in Saitama Prefecture, where more than 90 physical-AI-equipped robots handle everything from sorting to truck loading for roughly 200 My Basket stores in the Kanto region. The facility launched at around 50% automation, delivering labor savings equivalent to 39 workers per day and more than doubling loading throughput to about 400 cases per hour. Aeon aims to reach 80% automation by 2030 and extend the model to other group logistics sites, while acknowledging that high investment costs and safety verification remain challenges.
